Orang Utan
Orang Utan was formed in the late 1960's, with the five members (who were still in their teens and early 20's) coming together from some of the best bands in and around London. The band began life as "Hunter" after the Albert King song of the same name, but it sounded too blues inspired, so the name was changed to Orang Utan at the insistence of their manager. The band played all over England and became known as one of the better practitioners of early heavy metal and psychedelic music. The members are now scattered in all parts of the world, still playing music, and are very happy about the interest being generated an amazing 54 years later by their one and only album! Band members: Mick Clarke, lead guitars, Nobby Clarke, vocals, Sid Fairman, guitars, Paul Roberts, bass, and Jeff Seopardie, drums. "Their one and only album was released on Bell records in the US in 1970 - without the band's knowledge. The album has been re-released several times on CD and vinyl, and still the band has yet to receive a penny in royalties from those sales"
